I do the open-ended conversation starters and then the conversation dies off, or the person gives a real answer and I ask the next layer of questions and feel like I'm barging in. I HATE small-talk situations and usually deal with it by trying to be personally entertaining and then come off as uninterested in others, when in fact I'm just inept. What a quandary!<BR/><BR/>How about open ended questions such as "How did your weekend go?", or "That sounds challenging." or "How do you feel about that?"
