This simple line is the cure for:
:: toys left about
:: clothing left about
:: crabby mommy from too much stuff left about
:: children avoiding work by claiming "I didn't put it there."
If they don't hurry up about it, I just say "Uh-oh, looks like you chose for me to pick it up. Okay." and off to toy jail goes the offending item.
Of all the tools I gained from Foster Cline and Jim Fay's Parenting With Love And Logic, this is the one I reach for the most.
