Friday Poetry: A Prayer in Spring by Robert Frost

A poem blessing for our day, as we head out to till the garden.

A Prayer in Spring

Oh, give us pleasure in the flowers to-day;
And give us not to think so far away
As the uncertain harvest; keep us here
All simply in the springing of the year.

Oh, give us pleasure in the orchard white,
Like nothing else by day, like ghosts by night;
And make us happy in the happy bees,
The swarm dilating round the perfect trees.

And make us happy in the darting bird
That suddenly above the bees is heard,
The meteor that thrusts in with needle bill,
And off a blossom in mid air stands still.

For this is love and nothing else is love,
The which it is reserved for God above
To sanctify to what far ends He will,
But which it only needs that we fulfil.

I like that one! I was in with Frost today as well as someone else. A regular coincidence, I think!

Suzanne, I just love your blog. My husband and I are in the process of adopting a 5 yr.old little boy from China. I will definitely be purchasing the Rosetta Stone program and the Leap Frog learning system. Thank You!! The Rosetta Stone program sounds wonderful....I'm excited I linked to you via the WACAP adoption forum. I just joined yesterday. I love your posts on the forum....so insightful!! Any other advice/info you would have regarding "older" child adoption....please feel free to send my way. I am trying to absorb as much as possible...
