Standing in the Rainbow by Fannie Flagg

My kids have truly learned to swim which means I can read again. I am halfway through Standing in the Rainbow by Fannie Flagg and though I am enjoying it, I am still waiting for something to happen. You know, some gripping development that makes it all matter. All through the book there have been hints and portents of big things coming so either they are still ahead of me or they came and went and didn't make much of an impression. I'll let you know.

Hi, just found your blog. You have some great posts, I particularly like the List for Old Fashioned Living. That list also seems like a great guide to Contended Living! Enjoyed browsing around.

This is the one about the lady with the radio show in her home? If so, I LOVED that book. I read it pre-child so I can't even remember why I loved it so. There was such a flavor of another generation. Its not a deep read, so you probably aren't missing anything. There is a quasi sequel called 'welcome home baby girl'. Its worth a read, but a totally different tone.
